A company that outsources 40 per cent of its R&D to a sister company abroad achieves a lower nexus fraction. Say total R&D is CHF 10 million, of which CHF 6 million is in-house and CHF 4 million is outsourced to a related party. The qualifying expenditure is CHF 6 million x 1.3 = CHF 7.8 million. Step 1: Determine Net IP Income
